Resumes and other documentation can be attached to provide additional information. *** The Work You Will Do The Division of Hotels and Restaurants licenses the food and lodging industry within the state of Florida, including receipt and processing of license applications, collection of fees paid by licensees and enforcement of the laws and regulation of the food and lodging operators. The Records Technician position is located within the division's Bureau of Licensing and is responsible for processing licensing applications for the division. The duties of this position include but are not limited to: + Independently review applications for licensure to determine eligibility for registration, licensure and renewal in accordance with Laws and Rules. + Profile, process, troubleshoot, scan and index elevator, food service, and lodging, licensure and renewal applications using department software. + Assist the division with data entry functions for the division’s food service, lodging, and elevator applications. + Participate as a team member by attending meetings, mentoring, cross training as appropriate and providing assistance in other areas as needed. + Assist with processing incoming and outgoing mail. + Assist in resolving licensing and data errors and report events or trends that affect application processing to supervisor along with recommendations for process improvement. + Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers in person, on the phone, and in writing. + Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Knowledge of application requirements. + Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and facilities, and consumer protection. + Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities. + Ability to compile, organize and analyze data. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. + Basic Internet research and navigation. + Basic Microsoft office skills. + General knowledge and utilization of office equipment. Minimum Requirements This position is located in the Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Field Services. The position isfull-timeand the selected candidatemust be available M - F 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (with 1 hour for lunch). + Customer service experience assisting customers in person and on the telephone. + Data entry experience.
