Operator Skid Steer Loader

The Skid Steer Loader Operator performs safe loading and excavation duties as assigned.  The tasks are important for the maintenance of roadway conditions which is critical for the effective availability and utilisation of the trackless fleet.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 qualification or equivalent Skid Steer Certificate and License At least 2 years’ relevant experience in an underground mining environment Successfully complete a Dover assessment, at a level appropriate to the position Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license Be declared medically fit for the position and the environment, as determined by the risk based medical examination at the relevant Gold Fields Occupational Health and Safety Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening Test

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains Safety, Health, and Environmental practices according to standards and procedures Be a highly motivated self-starter with proven positive attendance record Do a pre-use inspection on equipment, by means of a checklist and report deficiencies to Supervisor Transports equipment and material using a Skid Steer Loader according to standards and procedures and as it relates to size, type, and weight estimation of the material to be loaded/graded Performs basic routine maintenance on equipment e.g., top up engine oil, water and hydraulic oil, check for oil leaks and clean equipment according to standards and procedures Assist the artisan during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs Performs end of shift procedures according to standards and procedures e.g., parks machine at designated area, cleans equipment and reports to Supervisor Performs any other activities necessary for the completion of his/her work
