Purpose Statement
Accomplish the preparation of frozen food products made on assigned production lines at the Brunswick facility by performing certain tasks involved in operating all equipment in waste room to meet quality specifications and production needs. Contributes to the profitability of the Company by performing tasks in a safe, efficient, quality-conscious, and cost-conscious manner and by working in a cooperative manner with his/her Team Leader and co-workers. This is a 3rd Shift position.
Key Accountabilities and OutcomesBuilding on the knowledge of processing learned in a previous position, learns how to operate food waste system, trash compactor and how to set up and run the cardboard baler to run product that meets quality specifications and production needs. Performs specific tasks associated with this process that must be done for all machines to which he/she is assigned. This includes, but is not limited to:
setting up all equipment so that it will run properly. This requires knowledge of a wide variety of parts, their function and application place food waste carts into food waste system and operate food waste system to dispose of food waste assist operators in dumping trash containers into trash compactor place cardboard in cardboard baler and operate remove cardboard bales and place on recycle trailer as needed cleaning and sanitizing work area with chemicals assisting maintenance mechanics with preventive maintenance of machinery during non-production periods and by reporting any problems with operation or suspected maintenance needs; assists with greasing bearings and performing other maintenance as mechanic requests Following all safety protocols such as LOTO, not putting hands in running equipment sweeping food debris on the floor into small piles, picking it up with a dustpan, and placing it in the proper waste container disposing of paper, plastic or other packaging material into the proper trash container pushing trash carts or carrying tubs of waste materials to proper disposal area using a low-pressure water hose to wash down the last traces of food debris down the drain, consistent with plant wastewater and sanitation policies using a rubber squeegee to push water off the floor toward and down floor drains preparing all paperwork required for quality and production records assisting in the set-up and operation of other processing equipment as requested by the Team Leader or Group Leader or as production needs dictate Knowledge, Skills, and Experience High school diploma or GED required. 1 to 2 Years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
