The Warehouse Operations Site Trainer is responsible for onboarding and hands-on training of all new and existing employees across both 1st and 2nd shifts. This role ensures team members are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to perform their job safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. The Site Trainer plays a critical role in fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement within the warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding:
Welcome and orient new hires to the company, facility, and team.Provide an overview of policies, procedures, safety standards, and job expectations.Ensure all required onboarding documentation and compliance requirements are completed.Training Program Development:
Design and update hands-on training programs for various warehouse roles, including pickers, packers, forklift operators, and material handlers.Develop job-specific training checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Incorporate safety protocols, quality assurance, and productivity standards into all training modules.Hands-On Training:
Deliver training sessions in real-world settings to new hires and cross-train existing employees.Train employees on the operation of equipment, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory procedures.Conduct periodic refresher training sessions to maintain high performance standards.Performance Evaluation:
Monitor trainee progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement.Assess employee readiness to transition from training to independent work.Document training completions and maintain detailed training records.Collaboration:
Work closely with supervisors and team leads to identify training needs and resolve performance gaps.Coordinate training schedules to align with operational demands for both shifts.Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate them into training programs.Recommend improvements to operational processes based on observations during training.Ensure a consistent and standardized training experience across all shifts.Safety Compliance:
Ensure all employees are trained in OSHA and company-specific safety protocols.Lead safety drills and maintain a focus on creating a safe work environment.Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a related field preferredPrevious experience in training or mentoring roles preferred.Skills and Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in using warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and WMS.Ability to train and engage a diverse workforce effectively.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to work flexible hours across 1st and 2nd shifts.Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.Certifications (Preferred):
Forklift Trainer Certification.OSHA Safety Certification.Work Environment:
