Class Summary
Job Description
The Operations Trades Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and reliability activities for the Water Resources Central Campus, Pump Stations Maintenance Facility, and all other associated buildings and grounds. This position will be responsible for evaluating annual contracts, identifying immediate and long-term rehabilitation needs, and reviewing design plans on capital improvement projects to make budget recommendations. In addition, this position will coordinate interdepartmental communication, scope projects, manage contractors, and improve safety and efficiency.
Essential Duties:
+ Managing and coordinating the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other maintenance activities for the facilities.
+ Receiving and tracking work order requests from Water Resources employees, which includes communicating the requests to management, prioritizing and assigning work, and contacting contractors when needed.
+ Responding to emergency and / or after-hours problems at Water Resources’ Central Facility.
+ Preparing and administering the maintenance equipment budget for the Department.
+ Supervising employees to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
+ Performing other duties of a similar nature.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Associates Degree in Business or Construction Management or a related field;
+ Seven years of progressively responsible trades and/or management experience, some of which in a supervisory capacity;
+ or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
+ Valid Driver's License in State of residency.
