Operations Team Lead

What is the day to day?

Lead warehouse staff and daily distribution activities.Managing, evaluating, and reporting on warehouse productivity.Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.Ensure ordering of supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels.Checking orders, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.Ensuring PPE compliance with health and safety regulations.Coordinating and maintaining activities, projects, etc.Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers.Drive staff growth and development by always succession planning.Present ideas on how to improve operations within all area’s. Contribute to updating/editing procedures/forms as needed. Work with Operations Supervisor on one-on-one coaching with staff. Be forward thinking and plan several steps ahead, being mindful of potential issues/problems that could arise with new or changed activities. Be available for calls from security, Amgen management, TSPs, etc.Work with staff to ensure both Amgen and JLL training is completed before its due date.Lead daily start up meetings with staff to cover day’s operation and focus areas for improvement.Organize support for weekend emergency orders or deliveries.

Required:

High school diploma/GED.2 years of Warehouse and/or Material handling experience.Experience working within a warehouse and/or with material/inventory.Aptitude to follow pre-determined SOPs and willingness to learn about industry-specific documentation practices.Ability to establish rapport with team members through good communication and positive attitude.Be forward thinking and plan several steps ahead, being mindful of potential issues/problems that could arise with new or changed activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree and 2 years of Warehouse/Material handling experience.Experience working in a warehouse environment (pharmaceuticals or biotechnology)Basic knowledge of warehouse inventory management, SAP and Microsoft OfficeUnderstanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) and international shipping requirements (IATA)Understanding of Good Distribution Practices or willing to learnKnowledgeable of Cold Chain distribution requirementsAbility to operate a forklift or other powered industrial vehicles.Possess and exhibit excellent attention to detail.

Work Environment:

Able to work standing, walking, or, moving around offices, work site; crouching, or other non-sitting working positions; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy objects with appropriate industrial equipment.Ability to comfortably lift 30lbs.Controlled temperature environment. Work week: 10-hour shifts 4 days weekly (Monday - Thursday)
