Operations Support Technician / Driver As an Operations Support Technician / Driver you will be responsible for performing onsite operations of equipment, material handling and the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and materials in a safe and conscientious manner.
Essential Functions & Requirements:
+ Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
+ Drives and operates commercial trucks as licensed to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste and materials
+ Loads supplies needed for job completion and travels to various customer sites to perform material handling services and assist with waste management program
+ Prepares for daily trip by inspecting vehicle and equipment, fueling truck, and ensuring all equipment is in excellent order
+ Utilizes thorough knowledge of handling, storing and processing procedures based on Customer's SOPs and Arcwood's protocols
+ Completes necessary paperwork for shipment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and materials
+ Follows proper inspection, placarding, and load segregation requirements when transporting hazardous materials
+ Maintains a log for record of hours worked based on Company policy and DOT compliance
+ Assists customers in troubleshooting and correcting recordkeeping inconsistencies and service concerns
+ Perform basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties
+ Acts as company representative with courtesy towards each customer
+ Develops good client relationships by effectively communicating with all customer parties
+ Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
Education:
+ High-school diploma or equivalent (required)
+ Some science-related course completion (preferred)
Experience:
+ Class B CDL (required); Class A CDL (preferred)
+ 3+ years of commercial driving experience (preferred)
+ Hazmat experience (preferred)
Competencies:
+ If Class a CDL credential is not achieved, ability to obtain a Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire, with the ability to demonstrate the skills necessary to operate applicable equipment
+ Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record search to Company standards
+ Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
+ Ability to understand RCRA, DOT, and OSHA rules and regulations
+ Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, including a respirator
+ Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
