Job Description
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Operations Supervisor for ASM Global - Mayo Civic Center. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with the efficient, professional, and profitable operation of the venue. The Operations Supervisor aids the Operations Manager in overseeing and assisting in all changeover and custodial functions of the Mayo Civic Center.
Responsibilities
Participate in and manage all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events.Duties may include by are not limited to; stages and platforms, basketball floor, goals and scorer’s table and railings, chairs and tables, ballrooms, lobbies, dressing rooms, and press room operable partitionsParticipate in and manage all aspects of proper cleaning routines for all front of house and back of house spaces.Duties may include by are not limited to; sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, stripping composite floors, extracting carpet, washing glass/windows/mirrored surfaces, washing walls, cleaning stainless steel, dusting, replenishing supplies, bailing cardboard, rubbish and debris removal. Review all Event Orders to create weekly custodial and conversion task prioritization timeline and checklist for all shifts. Ensure proper completion of assigned tasks on deadline to property standards.Select, train, motivate, and evaluate staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.Monitor and report any facility maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate personnel.Schedule employees for upcoming event needs.Develop and implement policies and procedures for Facility Workers (i.e., SOP's, daily "to do" lists, etc.).Lead full-time, part-time employees and contract workers in completion of any number of various operations tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.Order supplies and materials for maintenance programs within budget guidelines; receive and maintain supplies.Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met. These include, but not limited to loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies.Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and required records and permits; maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State and Local regulations.Develop and maintain an accurate record keeping system.Work extended and/or irregular hours including; mornings, days, nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.Assist staff as needed in all areas of building operations, performing other tasks as assigned.Minimum Education
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experienceMinimum of one year of experience in a multipurpose arena or convention center preferred.Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of basic tools and methods to erect and dismantle various items including chairs, risers, and stages.Demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations and emergency procedures established at the facility.Ability to climb stairs and lift 40 lbs, unaided.Ability to work under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Ability to adjust to event request changes from managers or event needs as they occur.Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional, and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.Ability to make sound business/operations decisions quickly and under pressure in a fast paced, event driven environment.Ability to speak, read, and write in English.Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft office, timekeeping systems.Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.Ability to work independently with little direction.Ability to work morning, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.Note
