Job Description

Grace is hiring an Operations Supervisor to join our Lake Charles, LA Operations team. As an Operations Supervisor, you will report to the Operations Lead and be accountable for the safe execution of your unit’s operating plan while improving performance and driving operational excellence. You will coach and mentor operators on your shift and help drive a strong safety culture. 

 


As an Operations Supervisor, you will be required to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule to include day, nights, weekend, holidays (Dupont schedule).  

Responsibilities Promotes safety through auditing, toolbox meetings, etc. Investigates and reports any safety incident, near miss, or hazard identified. Has ownership of housekeeping of the unit. Is accountable for the operators on their shift (performance coaching, production actions, quality decisions). Assures execution to plans and targets and escalates when unable to accomplish.   Shift Meetings (Hand Overs), Start of Shift Orientation, Site Supervisors Orientation, Daily Department Meeting  Provides maintenance directives/guidance for unit’s operating equipment. Writes notifications as work is identified.   Writes and follows through with emergency work (P1s). Reviews open maintenance WO’s and FCOM’s completed tasks. Reviews and approves raw material receipts for unloading. Kronos / Time Approver / Reviewer for operators on shift. Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 7 or more years of Industrial (i.e. Chemical, Petrochemical, Refinery, Oilfield) experience Commitment to safety, environmental and product quality Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have the ability to work in a team environment Self-starter, able to function with minimal supervision Attention to detail and record keeping Flexible: able to perform more than one task at a time Strong problem-solving skills
  Preferred Qualifications 3 or more years in a supervisory role Computer skills, SAP, Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Teams), Outlook, etc. Familiarity with TeamGuru, Enablon, Sharepoint
