Responsibilities

*Ideally candidate will be hybrid out of one of our West Coast offices: San Francisco, CA - Los Angeles, CA - Seattle, WA*

 

As an Operations Specialist - Multifamily with Hines, you will assist in business and operations support and analysis for our growing multifamily portfolio across the West Coast. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in multifamily operations and reporting analytics, with expertise in leveraging data to drive actionable insights and improve operational performance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Analysis of historical financials, variance explanations, an updated forecast with risks and opportunities to current plan, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Ability to work autonomously with little supervision while continuously ensuring alignment of objectives.

Provide Entrata and REBA Reporting support to Property Management and Asset Management teams.

Create asset and portfolio-level reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in annual budget preparation and asset reporting processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key performance metrics and data sources relevant to multifamily operations.

Develop and implement data collection processes to gather relevant operational data from various sources, including property management software, financial systems, and resident surveys.

Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in multifamily operations, including but not limited to leasing, resident retention, maintenance, and financial performance.

Assist with the design and build of interactive dashboards, charts, and reports using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or other software models to visualize key performance metrics and communicate insights effectively.

Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize operational processes, enhance resident experience, and maximize property performance.

Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analytics, multifamily operations, and real estate technology to continuously improve analytical capabilities and drive innovation.

Provide support to Director, Revenue Management with AIRM reporting.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement include:

 

Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in business, operations, or real estate and previous professional experience in property management or other corporate roles preferred.Two or more years of experience in real estate data analytics preferred.Experience using property software is highly preferred, Entrata preferred.Proven track record of driving business impact through data-driven decision-making.On-Site multifamily experience strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to quickly master additional skills relevant to the role. Comfortable utilizing and learning new technologies and software programs.Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Effectively exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions.You enjoy partnering with others and building constructive working relationships. You are accountable to your teammates and follow through on commitments. You play as a Team.You are resourceful, ask smart questions, challenge the status quo, and regularly seek to understand. You invest extra energy to reach your goals. And when a special project arises, you volunteer!Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and a proven track record of driving business impact through data-driven decision-making.Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, intuitiveness, conceptual thought processes, and exemplary organizational skills to support simultaneous project management.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management applications.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and translate numerical/technical data into clear written, verbal, and presentation communications.Results and process oriented strong organizational and time management focus.Ability to analyze data sets, spot trends and synthesize relevant observations. You like thinking outside the box to come up with innovative points of view.Flexible, composed, and able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. You handle pressure well and do so with confidence.  Solutions focused, demonstrating a sense of urgency to drive great results, while being precise in executing your work.

Ideally able and willing to work from one of our West offices at least 3 days a week (12 days per month) and attend company and industry events.

Available for potential project or conference related travel (less than 5% a year).

Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000 + 10% annual discretionary bonus. Closing
