Operations Project Manager

Job Summary

The Operations Project Manager supports complex, cross-functional Operations projects, including introduction and qualification of new manufacturing facilities and new test equipment or related semiconductor manufacturing processes.  Using project management skills and best practices, the Operations Project Manager facilitates planning discussions and drives the cross-functional team to meet deliverables and milestone commitments to ensure successful project launches and completion.

Primarily located in Taiwan, this role will be responsible for driving projects directly involving our Offshore Assembly and Test (OSAT) suppliers and providing program management support to our local technical teams.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

Manages a collection of Operations projects through planning, execution, and tracking. Aligns and establishes the project Plan of Record (POR) with the cross-functional team. Builds, monitors, and maintains the project tracking system to capture: WBS, Schedule, milestones, resources, costs, and deliverables. Leads cross-functional project status reviews to track the agreed to plan and reporting status. Provides project leadership and active participation to guide the project team and key stakeholders from concept to delivery. Anticipates and identifies project risks, schedule slips or changes to analyze the scope, cost, and resource impact. Drives resolution of internal issues when the project deviates from plan. Facilitates negotiation and conflict resolution across all levels, assigns actions and escalates as needed. Identifies, scopes, and leads cross-functional process improvement projects impacting efficiency and on-time execution. Implements tools, techniques, and processes to enable informed decisions. Removes project obstacles and enables the cross-functional team to deliver key milestones. Hold team members accountable and drives the team to make informed decisions in ambiguous circumstances. Manages & influences supplier relationships to successfully deliver project milestones Provides local team support and drives key decisions with suppliers to ensure on-time and quality execution.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

Typically requires 3 to 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry especially with projects from design initiation through high-volume shipment, depending on education level and experience 3 years of experience in a project/program management role Track record of successful project execution using phase gate processes (concept through delivery) Experience working with a variety of project management and business analytic tools (e.g., ERP, Workfront, SharePoint, MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Project) Excellent communication and organization skills. Ability to influence and negotiate with cross-functional teams. Ability to travel to Asia as needed. Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese

 

Preferred Qualifications

5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry especially with projects from design initiation through high-volume shipment. Experience successfully working and communicating with offshore assembly and test subcontractors (OSATs) Understanding of semiconductor backend processes, including RF/DC testing, wafer probe hardware requirements, incoming/outgoing wafer inspection Certificate in Project Management, highly preferred.

 

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering, or business management. Technical Degree in Engineering or other related discipline preferred.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Must be located in Taiwan.
