Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will direct the efforts of all operations personnel to meet the safety requirements, customer quality and delivery requirements and maintain operations aligned with Company objectives. This includes directing and initiating cost savings efforts and quality programs, implementing, and maintaining capital assets, development of manufacturing budgets and meeting stated financial objectives. The Operations Manager ensures that all safety practices follow ISO and fulfills the requirement for EH&S matters.  Additionally, this individual will work cross functionally with the management team to evaluate business strategies and develop and implement strategic plans. The Operations Manager will work to develop personnel and their leadership skills for key positions through delegation of responsibilities, motivation, and training. This individual will be responsible for sharing the company vision, as well as development and implementation of initiatives to achieve key objectives. 

Lead regular strategy deployment & KPI reviews for the Value Steam teams ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic implementation priorities.

Ensure key manufacturing metrics and key performance indicator systems (KPIs) are consistently tracking the appropriate measures and driving appropriate response behaviors.

Strategically drive the implementation of safety and industrial hygiene programs designed to minimize the severity and frequency of workplace injuries and illnesses.

Passionately drive continuous improvement culture while implementing the strategic Roadmap to achieve breakthrough performance in working capital, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

Directs, administers, and build an outstanding team and evolve the organizational structure to meet and exceed objectives. 

Ensure development and engagement of talent across all levels of the organization.

Drive cycle time and working capital improvements through flexible and lean manufacturing processes.

Partner with internal resources and the matrix structure to coordinate manufacturing functions with sales, marketing, design engineering, finance, supply chain, human resources, and other departments.

Takes steps to ensure that production and utilization levels are in line with plant standards and explain negative variances and means of increasing.

Develops plant budgets to meet financial business goals.

Monitors plant performance by analyzing current and future demand, cost, efficiency of operations and provides feedback to senior leadership.

Provides performance planning, mentorship, instruction, and performance feedback to direct reports.

Coordinates all phases of work on large projects and/or several smaller projects.  Manages projects efficiently and cost effectively to enhance profitability.

Responsible for and controls all manufacturing activities necessary for an efficient and profitable operation of the Plant.

Directly involved in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling all manufacturing related costs.

Coordinates the execution of manufacturing schedules based on requirements.

Responsible for application of methods, production standards, and adherence to safety programs.  This involves participation in equipment purchases, tool and plant design, product design and processes.

Oversees the maintenance of buildings and equipment, the plant security and protection.

Prepares necessary reports and data required for top management.

Other duties may be assigned to meet the business needs.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field required.  Master’s degree preferred.7–10 years operations leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of significant performance improvement.

Proven success in Continuous Improvement and Lean-Six Sigma strategy development and implementation for driving significant improvement in operational process and to drive productivity and quality.Proven success in Manufacturing Engineering, developing and implementing the manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.Manufacturing experience in power tools, molding, motors, batteries and high-volume assembly preferred.Supply chain and inventory management critical.Resourceful, combining strong manufacturing and technical abilities with overall management acumen.Ability to effectively deploy resources to key priorities with resources at hand.Sets high expectations (driven by metrics and countermeasures) for self and the organization.Ability and passion to rapidly learn and utilize the business system and achieve objectives.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.Develop a highly talented operations, engineering, and supply chain organization.Bilingual (English/Spanish).
