Operations Manager
Overview

A leading solar company situated in Cape Town is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Operations Manager to join their team.

The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for:

Team Management:

Involvement in hiring new operational personnel. Manage all operational personnel divisions to ensure that all activities are carried out to the highest standard. Plan, direct, coordinate and develop strategies for the successful completion of tasks to ensure client satisfaction. Lead the implementation and improvement of overall procedures and policies for the below divisions: Project Management Installations Warehousing

Maintaining Quality Control:

Oversee the day-to-day operation of the quality manager. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the site manager. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the project manager. Act as customer liaison for all operational matters. Completes site assessments for commercial and residential projects when required. Overseeing productivity and efficiency of all projects. Partner with Human Resources to ensure all relevant training is conducted to ensure the quality of work is met.

Installations:

Managing production and workflow of solar installations. Approval of documents and procedures that will be used on sites. Oversee and assist with project scheduling or amend where required. Oversee that all project documentation has been completed. Maintain and ensure teams are maintaining accurate site records of all events and day-to-day activities. Managing profitability of solar installations. Ensure that installations are invoiced as per company procedure. Ensure that standards are met on site and provide AAR regularly. Oversee that all health and safety procedures are adhered to onsite. Maintain all onsite records and documentation in an accurate and up-to-date manner, including but not limited to records for quoting, installation and signoff.

Warehousing:

Partner with Procurement to source and manage on-site spare parts and consumables. Overseeing warehouse operations. Approve stocktake reports provided by the warehouse manager.

Communication and Reporting:

Prepare timely and accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the operations department and present them to Senior Management. Provide support to the sales division should they require technical quoting assistance or site inspection support (Commercial Installations).

Key requirements:

Engineering/Electrical/ Project Management qualification advantageous Solar Experience
