Opportunity for a dynamic Operations Manager to join an established asset management team, working alongside the COO to develop operating plans and budgets, assisting the COO to effectively and efficiently execute the strategic operating plan. Great team and role!
Responsibilities: Drive and lead operational delivery and coordinate Investment Operations function, ensure consistent service standards Ensure accuracy of information flow to mitigate financial loss Review production schedules and ensure delivery of monthly client and internal outputs Pilot continuous improvements and controls to reduce operational risk and errors Manage business planning activities to support broader business goals Liaise with clients post-mandate signing, to ensure efficient onboarding Manage fund take on and take offs with client and fund administrator Manage and confirm end-to-end processes for client investments, disinvestments, and asset transfers Maintain accurate and updated client portfolio records Manage third-party fund administration service delivery Resolve cross-functional queries,suggest process improvements, ensure alignment with investment processes Manage client and fund audits, liaise with auditors Maintain and update all procedure documents and internal policies to reduce risk and improve efficiency Manage performance monitoring and reporting function Ensure compliance with GIPS (Global Investment Performance Standards) Lead and manage the Investment Operations team Oversee recruitment, performance management, and retention strategies alongside the COO Develop and mentor staff to retain top talent and build bench strength Conduct one-on-ones and performance reviews to track development Build a team culture focused on accountability, ownership, and service excellence Uphold and reinforce company culture, values, and vision through leadership Ensure efficiency through optimal use of Middle Office systems and technology Drive automation and digitization initiatives to enhance operational sustainability Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Contribute to risk reviews, control enhancements, and regulatory obligations Own the operational compliance with GIPS, ensure alignment with risk frameworks and reporting obligations Requirements: Minimum of a completed relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. BCom, BBusSci, Accounting, or Finance) Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior operations team lead or operations management role within asset management Advance understanding of Fund Accounting principles (segregated and unit trust) Proven experience with operational processes and risk control in an asset management environment Previous experience in overseeing GIPS compliance processes advantageous Strong understanding of financial markets and instruments Please note that if you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of your application, please consider it as unsuccessful for this particular role.
