Operations Manager, Lexington Market

Job Description:

Baptist Health Medical Group is looking for an Operations Manager to join our leadership team in Lexington, KY. This position will focus on primary care and behavioral health clinics in the assigned area.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the execution of practice operations at assigned Baptist Health Medical Group locations. Additionally, the Operations Manager is responsible for effective management of service-line financial performance and always maintains emphasis on Service Excellence.

This position collaborates and consults with hospital and BHMG management regarding a variety of legal, regulatory, human resources, financial and operational issues. Position requires daily interaction and effective communication with employed physicians, site management and staff.

Essential Functions:

Executes and oversees all aspects of assigned medical practices/operations, including development and implementation of policies and procedures.Works directly with Epic Support to maintain efficient EMR, optimize when appropriate, and communicates ALL changes to managers and staff.Maintains a working relationship with designated Baptist Hospital specialist groups.Knowledgeable of third-party payer contracts and effect on practice operations and financial performance.Works with leadership and BHMG Finance to create annual budget and manages practice budgets.Responsible for frontend revenue cycle process (collections, eligibility, charge entry).Knowledgeable of physician contracts and methodologies to ensure maximum productivity.Assists Director of Operations in planning and implementation of future operations, including business plan development, executive summary, and market research.Participates in monthly Practice Operations meetings with providers and practice managers.Manages and supports all BHMG strategic goals, including growth, engagement, safety and health outcomes, patient experience, and access to care.Makes recommendations regarding staffing levels, educational and experience capabilities of staff, and supervises staff.Manages and supports system utilization and referral management strategic initiatives and objective reporting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business-related field required.  An additional 5+ years of experience of medical practice management can be substituted for degree.3+ years of medical practice management required.Practice management software experience preferred.Frequent travel among practice locations.Basic understanding of financial systems (e.g., budgets, income statements, A/R, etc.).Demonstrated customer service focus and outcomes
