About Balkamp:
Balkamp is a big part of the Genuine Parts and NAPA Auto Parts group of companies. Balkamp is a leading distributor of automotive aftermarket products in the NAPA Auto Parts system with Distribution Centers located in Plainfield, Indiana, Salt Lake City, Utah and Lebanon, TN. We are looking for a Maintenance and Facility Manager where NAPA and Balkamp products and employees will both be located. This role reports to a very supportive DC Operations Manager.
The Role:

The Maintenance and Facility Manager is responsible for keeping the distribution center running efficiently by ensuring building and equipment remain in optimal condition and eliminate down time while maintaining high standards in employee productivity and safety. The Facilities Manager is responsible for providing strategic insight and guidance in support of distribution center projects and oversees execution of related service provider activities and services. The Facilities Manager ensures the mechanical and structural systems within the DC is inspected regularly and serviced appropriately while working closely with the DC Leadership Team and employees.

Have a background in managing building/facilities projects and repairsHave had responsibility over HVAC, refrigeration, fire suppression (ESFR), security and its systems, plumbing, electrical and its systems, facility structure, flooring, and roofing.Truly care about the appearance of a facility and safety of othersLove to be the “go to” resource/resolution specialist for building concernsConsistently take pride in facilities and having good working relationships with employees in facilityHave great follow through with issues and follow up with concerns that are brought to your attentionSupports the Operations team by working in a safe, customer-focused manner; and must be highly self-motivated and customer-centricMonitors and oversees projects regarding facility maintenance, equipment installs, light construction, and related budgetsMaintains and improves the preventive maintenance program and ensures the preventive maintenance scheduled is followed accordinglyEnsures all distribution center equipment is properly maintained per manufacturer recommendations and in accordance with the preventive maintenance scheduleDevelops and maintains preventative maintenance programs and good working relationships with operations leadershipMaintenance of building inside/out and management of building projects HVAC – high volume air conditioning. Makes sure they are up and running for heating and cooling. Manages the contractors and bidding process for repairs.Fire protection – outside water supply to emergency fire protection system, General condition of outside hydrants.Make sure Fire alarm systems and emergency lighting is up to code. Researches and evaluates new and existing equipment needsManages installation, integration, and maintenance of automated distribution equipmentAssists in the development of specifications and manages installation, system improvements and equipment maintenanceDocuments processes and equipment functionality, including blueprint and schematic creation, and ensures standard operating procedures are available to assigned staffApplies strategies for tracking and analyzing equipment downtime and failure patterns; implements solutions that prevent reoccurrenceManages vendor and contractor relationships and monitors work conducted, serving as a project manager on improvements and repairs on an as need basisInspects buildings and equipment for repair and maintenance work • Sources and orders parts and equipmentResponds to emergency facility requestsPromotes safety awareness and ensures compliance with regulationsMaintains site morale and customer satisfaction by keeping the customer in mind and by keeping the interests of the company at heartSkills/background you will need to bring to this role:
5 years relevant experience, including managing repair/upkeep of industrial automation equipment, facility management in distribution/warehouse environmentFamiliarity with fire systems and components, intrusion protection systems and industrial electrical • Understanding of heavy equipment maintenance routinesAbility to read manuals, electrical and manual schematics and be able to read and understand building blueprintsExperience with Warehouse Management System – Manhattan preferredPrefer experience with VLM automationKnowledge of Automated Control Systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, water systems, building repairs and housekeeping proceduresFamiliarity with fire systems and components, intrusion protection systems and industrial electrical Applied math and PC skillsElectrical, mechanical and forklift maintenance and repair skills.
