ABOUT CANNINGTON 

 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

 

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This is a Permanent position on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

 

As the Engineer Operations, you will be responsible for providing technical support to the Operations Engineering team and ensuring timely delivery of Mining designs and plans. You’ll work closely with the Operational execution teams to meet operational targets.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

 

Deliver safe, timely and effective technical designs and align on critical path and resource planning Support execution of the underground mining weekly schedule Attend daily technical update meeting with Planning department and realignment meeting with Underground Crews Take initiative to identify and implement improvements for underground mining operations

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

 

Experience in underground mining operations Knowledge of stope design, development design, drill and blast, ventilation, backfill, and/or short-term planning Innovate and drive continuous improvement Effective communication and collaboration skills

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

 

Trade or Degree qualified, or industry experience paired with relevant qualification Current drivers’ license
