Operations Director for Primary Care and Specialty Care

The Operations Director for Primary Care and Specialty Care will oversee the operational management and strategic planning of our primary and specialty care services. This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of value-based care, maintaining high-quality standards, and achieving affordability goals. The Operations Director will work closely with clinical and administrative teams to enhance patient care, optimize resource utilization, and drive continuous improvement.


Primary Responsibilities:

Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of primary care and specialty care services Ensure efficient workflow and resource allocation to meet patient needs Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures Value-Based Care: Develop and implement strategies to transition to and sustain value-based care models Collaborate with clinical teams to design care pathways that improve patient outcomes and reduce costs Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to value-based care Quality Improvement: Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions Affordability: Develop and manage budgets to ensure cost-effective delivery of care Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs without compromising quality Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to achieve cost savings Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to clinical and administrative staff Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities Patient Experience: Enhance patient satisfaction by improving access to care and reducing wait times Address patient concerns and feedback promptly and effectively Implement patient-centered care practices Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to expand and improve primary and specialty care services Stay informed about industry trends and best practices Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational goals with organizational objectives

Required Qualification:

HS diploma 5+ years of experience in healthcare operations management, preferably in primary and specialty care settings


Preferred Qualifications:

Solid understanding of value-based care models and quality improvement methodologies Proven excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders


The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
