Operations Director, Livewell

The Operations Director, Livewell is responsible for all aspects of operations for our home grown Livewell de novos (‘new hospitals’) pipeline across the Western half of SVP US footprint, as well as a specified number of project management activities as our current Livewell Operations Director goes on maternity leave. The main responsibilities of the Operations Director center around coordinating and supporting the selection of sites for Livewells, project managing the implementation of the de novos development alongside our real estate specialists and Project Managers to meet specified timelines of execution, enabling the staffing, training, and de novo onboarding for new units, and support the performance of these units, alongside GP legacy Regional Operations Directors, relative to their growth roadmap over at least their first two years of operation. Furthermore, the Operations Director is expected to engage and develop relationships all our home office functions to ensure the highest level of coordination in the execution of de novo growth initiatives, and support the Senior Vice President in recruiting at least two Directors of Clinical Operations and one other Director of Operations for Livewell. General Management Responsibilities: Hire, develop, motivate and support a team of 5-15 Livewell Hospital Managers Provide performance and coaching feedback to Hospital Managers in a timely manner Demonstrate Livewell’s mission, vision and values to each hospital team; collaborate with RODs, RMDs and Livewell Marketing Mgr to support Livewell sites’ growth Support day to day operations of an assigned portfolio of hospitals with full P&L responsibility, with the expectation to have sole ownership of the P&L by end of 2025 Coordinate with clinical lane to identify, recruit and onboard DVM founders for each de novo Engage and develop relationships with DVM staff to support a high standard of care is being performed Partner effectively with local Regional Medical Directors to ensure highest standards of medical quality, client satisfaction, team engagement and financial performance are met With the support of Livewell’s Director of Finance, track and support monthly and annual financial budgets Ensure each hospital is compliant with Livewell’s Quality Index (LQI – about to be launched in Q1), OSHA and other applicable local, state and federal regulations Project management In partnership with the operations, clinical and home office teams, support Livewell implementation pipeline that meets and exceed agreed upon business goals and timelines for new units During PM Operations Director maternity leave, support the real estate function in new site selection, architectural layout and implementation of de novos, as well as support in the development of de novo archetypes/layouts Ability to coordinate and align a broad range of stakeholders to deliver business goals On time delivery of reports and business-related deliverables Monitor all financial and operational metrics ensuring deviations are addressed timely and appropriately Financial management Effective P&L management, including appropriate management of Cost of Goods and labor as the de novos ramp up Ability to communicate and deliver a message about financial progress and outcomes to multiple audiences (home office and field leadership, DVMs, and team members) Ability to communicate hospital goals and objectives to all team members in a way that supports both agreed upon business outcomes and hospital culture Manage cost containment including inventory management, cash/banking control, loss prevention, collections of accounts receivable, and office and medical supply ordering Participate in the financial budgeting process in partnership with field leadership Maintain a safe work environment by managing and monitoring all OSHA guidelines, DEA compliance, and all local, state and federal laws (including both medical governance and employee labor guidelines) Required Education and Experience Minimum 10 years’ experience managing multi-site hospitals Ability and adaptability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced and evolving work environment Strong organizational skills and detail oriented Experience with managing budgets, delivering information from P&L statements and delivering strong results within a growth oriented organization Exceptional written and oral presentation skills; ability to present concisely and with detail Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data Benefits Work with an organization recognized as #1 in Healthcare by Newsweek’s Most Loved Workplaces in 2024.
