Operations Analyst

The Operations Analyst - Float works under the direction of the Business Systems Management Officer charged with overseeing the effectiveness of current operation activities, control weaknesses, and the implementation of process improvements. The Float Analyst, through rotational assignments, will be cross trained to assist departments experiencing temporary increases in work volume, temporary staff shortages, and/or assist in project management.
The Float Analyst will assist in the reviews, analysis, development, implementation, and deployment of business systems resulting from new product development, banking regulations, industry trends, and/or user needs. The position will also assist in defining and documenting the scope and objectives, requirements of projects, and will formulate testing plans (if applicable). Additionally, the position is responsible for assisting in testing of planned upgrades to current systems and various other duties including but not limited to: report management, corporate compliance, audit coordination, process controls, risk assessment and measurement, and retail loan portfolio management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business related field, such as Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or Economics preferred, or commensurate experience required
Strong analytical and research skills are required, along with the ability to work with internal and external customers for timely and accurate resolutions to issues
Must have excellent mathematical skills, including a sound knowledge of banking financial calculations (i.e. amortizations, interest rate and payment calculations, etc.)
Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including Word and Excel to create and maintain complex spreadsheets (testing will be administered)
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and possess the ability to be a team player in a professional team setting
Must have strong propensity for detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
Must be able to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and coordinate multiple and changing priorities in a demanding environment
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of retail loan principles with a minimum of one-year loan servicing experience preferred
Minimal travel is required
Overtime will be required, as needed
Desired Qualification
Experience with Sagent LoanServ highly desired
Experience in reviewing and understanding loan documents is preferred
Must be professional and courteous with internal and external customers
System implementation or testing experience is preferred
Principal Activities/Objectives
Perform on-going departmental support as needed, including but not limited to, performing the day-to-day activities in departments experiencing staffing shortages
Evaluate processes and recommend changes to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, or standardize processes
Develop, track, and maintain information to aid in operational and strategic decisions related to loan servicing
Establish, develop, and maintain strong, professional working relationships with management of the various departments and respective support staff to improve cross-departmental communications, foster teamwork, and build partnerships resulting in a more cooperative and engaged operations unit
Be a resource and subject matter expert for staff and management regarding all aspects of retail loan servicing systems and processes
Aid in the management and coordination of vendor relationships across the Retail Loan Servicing unit
Communicate and work effectively with staff, external customers, and all levels of management as necessary
Stay abreast of industry best practices, technologies, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, agency, and internal policies and procedures
