We are recruiting for a highly motivated Accountant to join our National Accounting Team as an Operations Accounting Analyst located in our modern Shared Services Centre located in Parramatta, NSW.

Reporting to the National Accounting Manager, this role will provide financial and commercial accounting and analytical support to various operation and business units to assist in meeting business objectives and conform to regulatory and Heidelberg Materials policy. This role also provides vital support to regional management teams and national functional teams across the full breadth of strategic and financial topics for the relevant business units.

In your new role, you will:

Lead the monthly financial closure process in SAP, including the review of all balance sheet reconciliations.

Analyse and interpret monthly financial performance, identifying key variances to budget and underlying operational drivers.

Participate in performance review meetings with divisional and business unit management.

Collaborate with all levels of management and site operations to produce accurate and timely performance analysis and reporting.

Support all aspects of divisional financial and management reporting, including activity-based costing, maintaining product BOM, and reviewing the cost of goods manufactured.

Conduct inventory reporting and analysis, understanding key drivers, and performing regular cost/management reviews with stakeholders, which may include interstate travel.

Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing analysis and commentary to business unit managers.

Contribute to compliance requirements, including year-end audit preparation and internal audits.

Review entity specific Balance Sheet reconciliations.

Provide operations with relevant finance and reporting training. This is both in office, and out on site within the operations.

Prepare Tax Effect Accounting calculations and review of tax sensitive GL accounts.

Assist with managing internal and external audit requirements.

This role is a great fit for you, if:

You have a degree in a relevant Accounting / Commerce field.

You are a member of CA /CPA/CIMA or equivalent.

You have a minimum of 5 years’ Accounting or commercial experience.

You have experience working with SAP ERP (FICO, MM, modules).

Strong MS Excel skills (intermediate to advanced level).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proven commercial analytical and numeracy skills.
