Summary: The OT Engineer will play a critical role in integrating, maintaining, and securing industrial control systems (ICS) and OT infrastructure. This position ensures the seamless operation and optimization of technology systems within manufacturing, energy, utilities, or other industrial environments. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to enhancing operational efficiency and security. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. + System Integration & Maintenance: + Implement and maintain industrial control systems (ICS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. + Integrate OT systems with enterprise IT infrastructure to support data collection, reporting, and analytics. + Monitoring & Optimization: + Monitor OT systems for performance and reliability issues and resolve them promptly. + Optimize system configurations to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime. + Cybersecurity: + Implement and enforce OT cybersecurity best practices and policies. + Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards. + Project Support: + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new OT solutions or upgrades. + Lead or support OT-related projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery. + Troubleshooting & Support: + Provide technical support for OT systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other devices. + Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize disruptions. + Documentation & Training: + Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, configurations, and user guides. + Provide training to staff on the proper use and maintenance of OT systems. + Participate in continual process improvement efforts in a leadership capacity. + Work with MIS and engineering to design and implement systems to capture production data including ingredient, batch, production, and capacity statistics. + Interfaces with vendors to assess feasibility of new software systems for use in engineering and production. + Improves manufacturing efficiency by researching and planning work flow, space requirements, climate and environment requirements, and equipment layout. + Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes. + Coordinates and assists with training for maintenance and production staff on new equipment and procedures. + Supports the production requirements for access and integration to corporate MIS databases and ancillary systems. + Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. + Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. + Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. + Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. + Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project. + Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management. + Promotes, reports and adheres to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations. + Reports food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or a related field. · 3+ years of experience working with OT systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment. · Hands-on experience with PLC programming (AllenBradley), SCADA systems, and network protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP). Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: + Valid Passport book or the ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Reasoning Ability: Demonstrates abilities in the following areas; uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusion or approaches to problems; application of general rules to specific problems to produce sensible answers to questions posed; interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; combines pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions; arranges things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules. Computer Skills: · Strong understanding of industrial networks, including segmentation, VLANs, and firewalls. · Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and best practices for OT environments. · Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. · CAD software. · Human Machine Interface (HMI) software. Rockwell FactoryTalk and Wonderware Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic thinking, resource allocation, leadership techniques, human resource modeling, and production methods and coordination of people and resources. · Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
