We seek a skilled and motivated Operating Systems (OS) Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our IT systems and infrastructure. You will ensure system reliability, scalability, and security while supporting end-users and contributing to ongoing IT projects. This position may work with and/or support systems that maintain or process sensitive institutional data as defined by university policy. Successful candidates must comply with federal, state, and local law, and/or university policies or agreements that require the university to implement specific privacy and security safeguards, including but not limited to ITAR, EAR, HIPAA, and FISMA.



 

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or at least 5 years equivalent experienceMinimum 3 years of experience in systems administration or a related roleStrong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server administrationUnderstanding of networking protocols and tools (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilitiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamExperience with PowerShell scripting or other OS scripting languagesDesired Qualifications*

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plusFamiliarity with security best practicesExperience working with VMware infrastructureExperience with Windows Failover ClusterModes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. This position requires at minimum 2 days on-site per week. Additionally, due to the nature of this position, you may be required to come to campus to resolve issues that are not possible to resolve from a remote location. Learn more about the work modes.

Base salary will vary depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
