This is a PRN role with potential to grow into a full-time position at Baylor Scott & White Health’s Temple Main Location. There is no predetermined schedule for this position; schedules are determined based on organizational needs. Shifts may be assigned between Monday through Friday, 6:15 AM to 8:15 PM, with advance notice.

JOB SUMMARY

\n

The Driver, under general supervision, performs a variety of transportation and delivery duties utilizing a motor vehicle as necessary to ensure the proper distribution of materials and/or passengers to various areas within the health system.

\n

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

\n\nPrepares supplies, equipment, special parcels, etc. for outbound delivery.\nSafely transports patients/clients utilizing all available safety devices and procedures.\nEnsures correct staging of merchandise for delivery to appropriate building or warehouse. *Ensures supplies and packages are securely prepared for delivery.\nLoads trucks safely and delivers supplies, equipment and other items.\nOperates truck in difficult delivery situations such as congested city streets and narrow passageways.\nCompletes driver log or trip report in accordance with DOT regulations.\nComplies with all department of transportation (DOT) and company regulations, policies, and standards pertaining to fleet safety compliance.\nMaintains delivery vehicles in clean, working condition; diligently checks fuel, oil, water and transmission fluid levels daily, replenishing as needed.\n\n

\n\nAbility to provide consistently excellent customer service with empathy, patience and confidence.\nAbility to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.\nMust be able to read, write and follow instructions and flow chart protocols.\nAble to balance multiple demands and respond to time constraints.\nBasic computer skills, including but not limited to: typing, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand held scanning and email.\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS

\n\nEDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent\nEXPERIENCE - 1 Year of Experience\nCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Drivers License (TXDL): If moving from out of state must obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.\n\n
