Physician Assistant (PA)

 The UT Health San Antonio, School of Dentistry, in the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) is recruiting a Physician Assistant. This position will be under the direction of a supervising Dentist, will be responsible for providing high quality, efficient, team based dental care and treatments of patients. 

Responsibilities will be but not limited to:

Perform physical examinations, order laboratory and medical/dental imaging tests and make preliminary diagnosis and provide treatments. Assists the dentist in the diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients by performing variety of medical/dental surgical tasks. Instruct and counsel patients on various medical/dental surgery related subjects. Obtain complete patient history, organizes and present the physical data together with evaluation and recommendations, to visualize problems and determine appropriate diagnostic procedures. Provides follow up and health maintenance care to patients in accordance with established protocols or specific instructions.

Requirements are must have a bachelor’s degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position and completions of an accredited Physician Assistant program. A Texas State license, DEA certification and board certification eligible.
