Job Description

The OCI program is a 90-day internship designed to expose college students to various aspects of hospitality. This position will provide hands-on training opportunities for someone to learn various aspects of the hotel business. Essentially being a “utility player” who will rotate throughout various departments and positions based upon business need. Omni Care Interns are provided with a summer internship opportunity that will result in acceptance into our LID (Leader in Development) program at the end of the summer season based upon performance.

Responsibilities Collaborate with Corporate Mentor, Hotel Mentor, and Monitor to ensure program completion is successful.Attend all 12 Guest Speaker Corporate Leadership Calls for all OCI’s and turn in summary to ASC.Understand goals and objectives of the Omni Care Internship program. Meet Bi-Weekly with Hotel Mentor (Executive Committee Member). Rotate between Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Banquets, and Outlets. Additional department/roles may be added based on business needs. Shadow another department of your choosing. Attend at least one AM/PM Standup/Guest Engagement Meeting (daily if schedules allow).Attend at least one Housekeeping Standup.Attend at least one Outlets and Banquets Standup. Attend at least one Group Business Resume Review. Attend at least one Daily Business Review. Attend at least one Executive Committee Meeting.Attend at least one Volunteer Event organized by ASC. Attend Power of Engagement monthly. Meet with Monitor (Associate Services Director) monthly to evaluate progress.Attend to and anticipate Guest’s needs. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in scheduling. Demonstrate excellent teamwork. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Perform duties assigned by the Manager of the department you are working in.Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional guest service. Communicate with Hotel Mentor and Monitor of any barriers which may hinder intern’s progress. Participate and assist in Omni employee events.Flexible in working various entry level service positions within the property.     Position will rotate between front office, housekeeping, food, and beverage outlets/events/pool. Additional departments/roles may be added based on business needs. Attend to and anticipate guest’s needs.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Perform any other duties as assigned by the Operations Leader. Qualifications Pursuing a college degree in Hospitality preferred. Current Texas Food Handler’s and TABC certifications.Strong communication skills – both written and verbal required. Strong customer service skills.Previous experience in a customer service position preferred. Willingness to learn and take on different projects. Ability to adapt to changing environments. Must be able to walk, sit, stand, squat, and lean during daily business for extended periods of time. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in scheduling.Demonstrate excellent teamwork.
