Job DescriptionBrookline College is looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant or OT to join our fast-growing Faculty team in Phoenix, AZ
We are currently interviewing for a per diem position in a hybrid program.
Your knowledge and clinical experience and our highly accredited, established curriculum will result in the next generation of eager, inspired, and prepared OTAs entering the field. No teaching experience is required but it is preferred.
This position provides a learning experience for students and evaluates their achievements.
DISTANCE EDUCATION/INSTRUCTION
Maintain a teaching load per semester, as assigned at the time of the offer.Maintain and demonstrate subject matter expertise, including distance education [as assigned to online courses]. Apply established teaching criteria and procedures and curriculum to support student learning.Employ various distance education teaching methodologies to drive continuous quality improvement.Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) as a tool to deliver course content and provide formative feedback to learnersPossess the expertise necessary to ensure appropriate curriculum design; partner with the program director to improve the design of distance education environments and curriculum.LEARNER RETENTION
Monitor/track student retention using course attendance records.Implement data-driven student retention improvement strategies to achieve course benchmarks.Partner with the program director to improve the design of instruction.PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING
Remain proficient in all aspects of course or curricula content, learning outcomes, and assessment activities to achieve course goals.Teach courses as assigned within the maximum number of contact hours allowedDemonstrate skill and knowledge in the teaching disciplineMake continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different techniques, including distance education in teaching.Aid in planning, development, and maintenance of program curriculumEvaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course goals; inform students promptly of their progress.Submit required program reports and forms to program or course managers promptlyMaintain continuing education (CE) hours to ensure renewed OT or COTA licensureMaintain student records of attendance or skill competency documents as needed.Partner with the program director or department chair to resolve student appealsAttend faculty meetings at the cadence determined by the program director or department chairEngage and document participation in professional development and in-service training for learning management systems, pedagogy, and education teaching methodologies.Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, and the communityMaintain compliance with policies and procedures within the employee handbook, program handbooks (as applicable), and department directives.Coordinate and balance the needs of a diverse student population.STUDENT RETENTION MANAGEMENT

Graduation from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the specialty field or content area in which they teach
or
Graduation from an otherwise recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program) in the specialty field or content area in which they teach
or
Graduation from an institution located outside of the United States and its territories in the specialty field or subject area in which they teach. Transcript evaluation required by NACES or AICE.
Required: Minimum of a bachelor's degree awarded by an institution accredited by a United States Department of Education-recognized institutional accrediting agencyRequired: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) current licensure in ArizonaRequired: Three (3) years of practical experience in the assigned occupational therapy assistant program contentDocumented expertise in the area(s) of teaching responsibility, content delivery system, and teaching methodology.
