**Join our Team! Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Physical Medicine Department is now hiring a Full-Time Occupational Therapist to work at LMC's 326 acute care hospital. The department is located in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. This is a busy department that sometimes requires flexibility in scheduling. Employees report directly to the Director of Physical Medicine. The hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Read a full position description below.**
Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
Assess patient's needs, plans and conducts individualized occupational therapy programs to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities. Teaches patients skills/techniques and how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities. Studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress. Relies on limited experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to the Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Applicants Job Requirements Include:
+ **Required:** Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
+ **Required:** Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
+ **Required:** State certification as an occupational therapist.
+ **Required:** BLS within 30 days of hire.
+ **Preferred:** Experience with electronic documentation a plus. Will supervise occupational therapy assistants.
+ **Preferred:** Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
