The Occupational Therapist Assistant administers Occupational Therapy services for patients including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics under supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. We encourage getting involved in SIGs (special interest groups), initiate process improvement projects, join different committees, take leadership classes of interest. **A caregiver in this position works 8:00am-4:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Administer patient centered Occupational Therapy treatment incorporating evidence-based practice and skilled techniques to achieve optimal functional outcomes, under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. + Communicate changes in patient status to primary therapist in a timely manner. + Act as a clinical instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students. + Act as a resource for volunteers and observers. + Participate in staff development and education programs within the department. + Participate in interdepartmental education of other professional staff. + Direct and supervise the activities of support personnel while retaining responsibility for patient care.
