Occupational Health Nurse
Position Summary The Occupational Health Nurse serves as the clinical contact for clients participating in Med Center Health’s Occupation Health Program(s) in Allen, Simpson, and Warren counties. Responsible for coordinating and providing occupational health services to businesses in the service areas including health education and promotion, on-site treatment, and follow-up. Ensures appropriate documentation and maintenance of the computer-based tracking system and compiles required reports and records. Communicates regularly with businesses/employers about services provided to employees, needed referrals, and outcome of care given. Assists Director of Business Development with marketing the programs and developing policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Work Experience Three years of Registered Nurse experience required. Previous experience in Occupational Health strongly preferred.
Education Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field preferred.
Certifications/Licensure Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Registered Nurse required. Certification as Occupational Health Nurse preferred.   Coordinates and provides occupational health services to businesses in the service areas including health education and promotion, on-site treatment, and follow-up. Communicates regularly with businesses/employers about services provided to employees, needed referrals, and outcome of care given. Coordinates Community Wellness programs/events for Simpson, Warren and Allen County. Provides general assistance at various community events to include participant registration and coordination of the communication of results to participants. Assists with monthly updating of employer health promotion board materials. Trains client staff to provide needed on-site and in-house services to meet clients’ needs.  Educates staff and clients on current regulatory standards. Train and support other registered nurses and medical assistants in occupational medicine such as UDS, hearing testing, vision testing, pulmonary function, respirator/mask fitting, etc. Ensures appropriate documentation and maintenance of the computer-based tracking system and compiles required reports and records. Provides follow-up reports to administration and clients regarding utilization, cost, profitability, and specialty reports as requested. Monitors day-to-day operations (including billing and accounts receivable) to identify trends, conflicts, areas needing improvement, marketing opportunities, competitive influences, and changes in business climate. Budgets staff resources and finances to facilitate growth and positive financial outcomes.  Participates in annual financial budget process by preparing and adhering to annual marketing plan and budget. Provide case management thru the continuum of care to industry clients in collaboration with other Med Center Health entities. Serve as clinical contact between corporate clients and MCH physician practices/clinical services to facilitate expedient and appropriate clinical care for employees. Serve as clinical contact between corporate clients and MCH physician practices/clinical services to meet the client’s needs regarding state and federal regulations related to EEOC, ADA, FMLA and other applicable entities.  Collect, track and report metrics to corporate clients related to impact of MCH occupational medicine and population health statistics. Collect, track and report metrics to MCH WorkLife (direct and indirect) related to financial impact of corporate client services.
