Description:
Hire Resolve’s Client is currently looking for an Occupational Health and Safety Officer to join their mining company based in the Gauteng.

Responsibilities:

Monitor adherence to the Mine Health and Safety Act and its regulations. Keep updated with amendments to safety laws and implement necessary changes. Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act when applicable. Identify workplace hazards and assess risks. Develop and implement risk control measures to mitigate hazards. Regularly review and update risk assessments as mining activities change. Conduct routine inspections of mining operations, equipment, and facilities. Ensure safety systems, such as ventilation and machinery safeguards, are functional. Investigate unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions. Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine causes. Compile detailed reports and recommend measures to prevent recurrence. Liaise with regulatory bodies during investigations, if required. Provide health and safety training to employees and contractors.

Requirements:

Grade 12 Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field SAMTRAC or COMSOC 1& 2 Valid Driver’s License

Benefits:

Salary: R420 000 – R480 000 P/A Benefits: Medical Aid and Pension Fund
