OB Technician Labor & Delivery
About the Unit

This role will be in our Labor and Delivery Unit of Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Scope of WorkActs as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Performs basic skills per hospital/unit guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Is responsible for preparing the obstetrical/gynecologic suite, handling obstetrical/gynecologic instruments intraoperatively and maintaining a sterile field for obstetrical/gynecologic procedures. Evaluates changing conditions during the obstetrical/gynecologic procedures and makes appropriate responses to them.

QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or equivalent experience1 year of relevant experience in recent, relevant patient care is requiredPrevious experience with opening sterile supplies/instrument handling/autoclaving, etc. PreferredBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 Days requiredMedical Assistant, Certified (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or CNA cert are preferred
