Job Description:

Coordinate nutrition interventions in Makpandu in co-operation with SMOH and CHD, UNICEF, UNHCR partners, and other humanitarian partners. The Nutrition Officer is supported by a Nutrition Assistant at health facilities and outreaches through Community Nutrition Volunteers and CHWs. Ensure that the UNHCR responsibilities and obligations in the WFP/UNHCR `Memorandum of Understanding, and the nutrition components of UNHCR/UNICEF Letter of Understanding are implemented.

Set up a commodity supply system that maintains a regular supply of nutrition supplies (SFP/OTP/SC), good storage of all commodities and efficient safe distribution to the beneficiaries in all the project sites and ensure proper record keeping.

Facilitate or co-facilitate nutrition related trainings for Health Workers e.g. IMAM guidelines, IYCF and other HINI components.

Implement a recognized system of screening and monitoring of beneficiaries to ensure that those targeted to receive treatment rations and their outcomes are monitored to measure to the SPHERE standards and achievement of the impact of the intervention.

To ensure CMAM program reporting protocols are implemented according to the national guidelines (CMAM) and reports submitted in time.

Support the systematic delivery of MIYCF, Health, Hygiene and Nutrition education messages to the target programme beneficiaries and the entire community.

Submit regular progress report to Health and Nutrition Coordinator for continuous assessment of the effectiveness and the impact of the programme

Contribute to assessments and monitoring nutrition interventions at facility level in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other partners in the area.

Supervise Nutrition Monitors, Nutrition Assistants and CNVs

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position

Advance Diploma in Public Health, Nursing, Community Health or Clinical Medicine or related field.

•     Trained with knowledge, skills and experience in nutrition programs.

•     General understanding of health service delivery  especially those related to women and children;

•     At least 2 years’ experience working with community groups in the field

•     Energetic and self-motivated, with skills in community mobilization, training, and team-building;

•     Proven analytical, problem-solving skills and comfortable working under minimal supervision;

•     Highly organized, efficient, and able to meet key deadlines;

•     Must be a South Sudanese National;

•           Knowledge in Computer Microsoft Office Suite and email.
