Nursing Program Coordinator - Nursing Administration
The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public. **Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree with at least three years of project/program management experience in a healthcare setting. Must be a detailed-oriented with exceptional customer service skills.** **Key Functions** **Liaison for new employees in orientation / educators:** Contacts new hires to ensure all instructions for their onboarding are clear, alleviating confusion, respond to inquiries and provide support, etc. Works with human resource representatives to coordinate list of new employees who are scheduled to entry on duty (EOD), provides list of new employees to nurse educators so they may prepare for the orientee(s) EOD, registers new employees for information systems access and other passwords as needed, and schedule them for relevant testing. **Participate in the preparation of orientation and program materials for Orientees:** Assists in preparing class materials such as slides, handouts, flyers, information brochures and teaching aids for participants. Develops calendars for orientees in collaboration with the Orientation Program Coordinator. Collaborates with Nursing Educators to provide orientation pathway for newly hired nursing employees. Collaborates with the Orientation Program Coordinator to ensure all preparations for new hire orientation are complete. **Program Development and Support:** Revises evaluation tools for Nursing Orientation programs; independently or collaboratively supports Nursing Orientation programs which may include but is not limited to: Collaboration with team in the planning and developing of programs. Preparation of materials (i.e. handouts and agendas) for program presentations. Communication and documentation of projects. This includes keeping attendance records, communicating with participants. Maintenance of data records for evaluation of programs. Includes summarization of data, creation of reports, data analysis, and result presentation. Participating in program presentations which includes setting up, presenting, introducing speakers, and maintaining agenda. Monitors program participants for compliance. This includes communication with participants as well as assistance in implementing measures to improve compliance. **Performs administration functions and coordination of program(s) assigned:** Participates in the marketing efforts to stimulate interest in the programs provided and addresses all coordination needs of classroom and clinical labs for assigned employee target population including: Arranging for meeting space, set up of audio-visual, technology, equipment and supplies for skills training as well as any other needs. Communicating and coordinating with presenters/facilitators regarding objectives of presentation, dates, locations of offerings and determining assistance needed by facilitators. Ensuring all participant educational materials and supplies are prepared and available in advance of program offerings. Trouble-shooting equipment and computer problems as they arise. Creating surveys in Qualtrics Survey Software and managing and distribution respective reports to respective nurse educators. Virtual platforms assistance: Zoom, Teams, WebEx, Skype Completes special projects and monitors status of special projects on an on-going basis. Assures appropriate inventory of office supplies and maintenance of efficient work environment and professional decorum. Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Other duties as assigned. **REQUIRMENTS** **Education** Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. **Experience** Required: Three years project/program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of related experience on a one-to-one basis.
