Nursing Program Coordinator
Job Description

Cultivates a professional practice environment, by coordinating the Pathway process and leading the institution to Pathway designation.  Assists in identifying nursing quality indicators, developmental needs, performance improvement, research initiatives and other activities that sustain and advance a culture of excellence.  Serves as an ambassador of the Pathway program employing a variety of communication strategies.  Collaborates with leaders and staff, within and outside of the organization using the ANCC Pathway framework of excellence to create and implement innovative staff engagement, systems and processes.

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Education & Training: Master’s degree in nursing is required.  Registered Nurse with current RN licensure in the State of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to compact state agreements as outlined through the Maryland Board of Nursing required.  National Nursing Certification in Nursing Administration, Leadership, Clinical Specialty, or Staff Development is preferred.

 

Work Orientation & Experience:  Minimum (5) five years’ experience in nursing or nursing leadership required.  Prior experience with project/program management in a Pathway or Magnet health care setting preferred.

 

Skills & Abilities:  Clinical and professional knowledge regarding current issues affecting healthcare delivery, quality management and professional practice is required.  Knowledge regarding group dynamics, organizational change and methodologies for affecting change through leadership are required.  Ability to independently develop and manage organizational level projects.  Ability to plan, organize and follow through on projects.  Demonstrated success in a leadership role exhibiting teaching, coaching and development skills.  Demonstrated effectiveness in a consultative role at the organizational level.  Knowledge of database management and data analysis is required.  Experience with Smartsheet strongly preferred.  Demonstrated use of a statistical software package is preferred.
