Nursing Home Administrator

What you'll do The Administrator of the Valley Health Services (VHS) Nursing Home, under the general direction of the SVP Chief Administrative & Strategy Officer, will be responsible for all aspects of the facility’s operations. This position will manage the day-to-day functions of a 160-bed facility and Adult Day Health Care program in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards that regulate long term care. Ensure that comprehensive medical care is provided to all residents of the facility. Duties include policy formulation, program development, providing leadership and direction in coordinating resident care services, monitoring and assuring compliance with all legislative, regulatory and Departmental requirements, training and development of staff, leading the development of the annual budget requirements and representing the facility in sensitive contacts and at public affairs. This role serves as the "Administrator of Record" as per CMS and NYSDOH regulations and is responsible for all State and Federal reporting's and regulatory compliance Oversees day to day operations of the nursing home and adult day care programs including staff management and resident and family relations Participates in senior leadership meetings and as required, committee and board meetings within the organization Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations Assists with compilation of strategic plan, mission and vision for the VHS Nursing Home Develops, review, recommends personnel, operating and capital budgets for the VHS Nursing Home Articulates and promotes the goals and objectives of the organization Communicates and disseminates necessary information via department staff meetings Sets strategic goals and quality initiatives for VHS Nursing Home Has direct responsibility and authority for the dietary, activities, rehabilitation, quality assurance/safety, and infection control/staff education departments Reviews resident incidents, complaints and grievances, and makes written report of action taken Develops and maintains written policies and procedures that govern the operation of the facility Attends BOD meetings and presents reports, as needed, to the BOD Participates in the facility’s personnel process when necessary. This includes but is not limited to hiring, terminating employment and disciplinary hearings What we need from you Education: 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in the Administration of Health Services, Business Management, Nursing or related field, required Master's Degree in Health Services Administration, Business or Gerontology, preferred Experience: 2 years' post-licensure experience as an administrator of a nursing home or health related facility of at least 100 beds, required 5 years' experience as an administrator of a nursing home licensed by the New York State Department of Health, preferred Licensure/Certifications: NYS Nursing Home Administrator license, required Skills: Problem Solving Interacting with People Leadership Team Building Communication Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $105,000.00/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $140,000.00/Yr.
