Starting Salary Range:

$70,559 (Class II, Step 6) - $97,415 (VII, Step 10) Annually for a 10-month contract

Based on education and experience

 

Tenure-Track Nursing Faculty receive an additional $1000/month market additive for each month of their ten month contract year.

 

Anticipated Start Date: August 2025

 

Job Description 

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Under an assigned supervisor, instructors participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advancement of the vision, mission and values of the college and District. This position may include a combination of day, evening, and/or weekend assignments in classroom, labs, simulation, and clinicals based on Department needs.

 

This position is being offered by a college strongly committed to the "open door" concept serving a diverse student population. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

 

Master's in nursing OR Bachelor's in nursing AND Master's in health education or health science OR the equivalent OR the minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing, whichever is higher

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must demonstrate:

 

1) An active California registered nursing license

 

2) Expertise in nursing in an acute clinical setting.

 

3) Advanced medical/surgical nursing experience; may include DOU, ED, and/or ICU.

 

4) The skill, experience, and equity mindset to be able to instruct and motivate students of diverse age, ancestry, race, disability, ethnicity, perspective, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, education, and socio-economic status.

 

5) Ability to work and communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and students.

 

6) Ability to actively engage students to think critically while participating in the learning process.

 

7) Evidence of a strong commitment to remain current in the nursing profession and the instructional program.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will also be evaluated for qualifications in the following:

 

1) Ability to implement curriculum appropriate to the demands of a diverse student population.

 

2) Perform other duties consistent with faculty job description as stated in the faculty contract.

 

3) Desirable: experience teaching in class, clinical, and/or simulation.
