**Job Summary and Qualifications**
· The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is a collaborative member of the health care team who delivers nursing and collaborative medical aspects of care to specific populations within the scope of care delineated by the licensing board, professional standards of care, and as outlined through the medical staff credentialing process.
· Neonatal Nurse Practitioners collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to review the plan of care, intervene when necessary to ensure adequate delivery of quality, cost-effective care and maintain continuity of care through appropriate referral and follow-up.
· The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will collect and/or analyze data as well as develop a plan and/or problem-solve the care provided the critical and intermediate level of care patient(s) to assist in documentation, coding, reduce length of stay, improve coordination of care and improve patient outcomes as well as reduce hospital-acquired conditions.
· The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner participates in hospital and nursing committees as directed by the facility’s Chief Nursing Officer.
· The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner may diagnose medical and nursing conditions, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient response to therapy under the direction of and in collaboration with the supervising physician or the designated attending physician.
· The ultimate goal is to improve patient care while achieving physician-directed medical goals.
· Will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the adult and geriatric population.
**What qualifications you will need:**
· Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners required.
· Current Neonatal Nurse Practitioner license required.
· Current BCLS, NRP and STABLE certification required.
· Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing advanced practice program required and currently recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse specializing in Neonatal Care.
· Five years NICU experience in a professional nurse capacity.
