Nurse Practitioner - Nephrology
 

Full time position available in Nephrology.

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for caring for patients, maintaining accurate and current patient records and scheduling and administering follow-up appointments to patients as required. Works as a team with our nurses and physicians and will assist in delivering premium care to each and every patient.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs initial patient screenings and patient history and physical examinations

• Updates patient records and check records for accuracy at each patient appointment

• Analyzes test data and determine the need for follow-up appointments and further treatment options

• Delivers quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity

• Serves as the resource patients need for ongoing care information, counseling and provide guidance for any patients with critical conditions

• Maintains current knowledge of clinical practice

Education:  Master's degree in nursing required.  

License/Certification: Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Louisiana required. CPR required.  ACLS and PALS preferred.

Additional experience preferred:

• 1 year Nurse Practitioner experience preferred

• Ability to operate and handle many kinds of complex equipment

• Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for all ages of patients.

• Ability communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Knowledge of theory, principles, techniques and practice of professional nursing; of scientific principles and nursing research; of preparation, administration and actions of medications; of treatments and medical procedures; of counseling and teaching techniques; of medical equipment as it related to patient care.
