Exciting opportunity to join our team at our newly opened Henry Ford Behavioral Health Hospital in West Bloomfield! + APP will work 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts and must be available for 2 weekends per month. + In this Family Medicine position APP works with the Psychiatry team. + Family Medicine is responsible for providing medical care to the inpatient psyche patients. + The Family Medicine NP or PA works under the supervision of a Family medicine staff physician. + The job responsibilities include performing H&P, consults for any acute medical issues, management of chronic medical problems, communication with the psyche team. + Experience working IP behavior health setting desired. + Seeking an APP for this role that is flexible; motivated; compassionate; willing to learn; interested in working with youth and adults. + Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide inpatient medical care, with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff; e.g.: Patient history, physical examination, ordering and interpreting tests, making diagnoses and instituting treatment plans. + Provides inpatient consultation on internal medicine conditions and may unction as a critical team member on the hospital code team. In conjunction with the supervising physician conducts admission evaluations and assessments and provides inpatient medical coverage for community physicians as necessary. + May be required to take call. Specific procedures within the Department of Medicine are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: + Requires Masters Degree in Nursing; licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse; -OR- A Bachelor's Degree; completion of an AMA accredited Physician Assistant program; licensure as a Physician Assistant + A minimum of 1 year working as an APP is preferred + A minimum of 1 year of experience working in Family Medicine is preferred CERTIFICATIONS: + BCLS Certification + Certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field; National Certification Corporation (NCC); National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates; and/or certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) -OR- Continuing certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistans (NCCPA) Additional Information + Organization: Henry Ford Medical Group + Department: Family Medicine + Shift: Day Job + Union Code: Not Applicable Additional Details This posting represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions.
