Nurse Practitioner
The role of the JDFPG Nurse Practitioner is to work as part of the primary health care team, delivering comprehensive health care services to the employees and eligible dependents of the JDFPG community. The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with Doctors, Nursing and administrative staff to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. This position emphasizes preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute care services. The position will provide full-time clinic support (8-hour day), 5 days per week. “After-hours” coverage to be provided as necessary. **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES** 1. To ensure the provision of quality care through efficient and effective, safe and timely services exercising a significant level of initiative in the direct coordination, implementation and evaluation of care with appropriate outcomes. 2. Conduct comprehensive physical exams and obtain detailed medical histories. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including prescribing medications and therapies as appropriate. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies. 3. Educate patients on managing chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. Offer guidance on lifestyle modifications, including nutrition, exercise, and stress management. Support patients in understanding their treatment plans and medication regimens. 4. Work closely with physicians, EAP and other health care professionals to ensure continuity of care. Participate in care discussions and team meetings. Refer patients to specialists and other health care providers as necessary. 5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the clinics Electronic Health Record (HER) system. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and AHPRA standards. 1 6. Maintain continuing professional development as per AHPRA requirements for Nurse Practitioners. 7. To ensure the health and safety of staff and visitors to JDFPG Medical clinics. 8. Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements. 9. Any other reasonable duties as requested **QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION** Minimum Essential Desirable · Bachelor of Nursing · Formal Nurse Practitioner Qualification · Licensing with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) · 2 Years’ experience in a Primary Health Care setting **TICKETS AND LICENCES** Minimum Essential Desirable · Basic Life Support/First Aid · Working with Children Ochre Card NT · Advanced Life Support · Accredited Vaccine Provider Course · Advanced First Aid · Quit counselling provider course · Remote Emergency Care Course (REC) · MIMMS Course · Drug and Alcohol Testing certificate · Audiometry provider certificate **EXPERIENCE** – Minimum Essential · 2+ years working as a Nurse Practitioner **COMPETENCIES** Technical competencies · Demonstrate knowledge of Australian medical and nursing guidelines and standards · Use of medical equipment and devices; ECG machines, sphygmomanometers, Urine Analysis machines · Experience in the use of electronic medical records systems and record keeping in accordance with medical confidentiality requirements. · Basic knowledge of computer applications e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry · Behavioural competencies · High-level of communication; written and verbal, teamwork and interpersonal skills · Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a motivated group Health Professionals. **WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS** · E.g. Ability to lift up to 10kg independently · Ability to carry emergency medical packs · Unload and load medical equipment into vehicle · Ability to transfer immobilised patients utilizing medical devices, e.g., Stretcher/ Wheelchair · Perform CPR **SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT** It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Level NV1 Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian). **STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS** All personnel assigned to work at JDFPG shall be: · At least 18 years of age. · Able to fluently read, write and speak English **EHS REQUIREMENT** All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements.
