Nurse Manager Emergency Department\n

Acting as a resource to the interdisciplinary team, the nurse manager is a registered professional nurse who works in conjunction with the Nurse Director to promote a positive work environment and maintain daily operations of their assigned department. The nurse manager holds staff accountable for the delivery of quality care and services through effective communication, observation, and measurement of specific interventions\/practices and their associated outcomes. The nurse manager works to achieve clinical, financial, material, and human resource goals as they pertain to the assigned unit. The nurse manager plays a pivotal role in staff retention, recruitment, mentoring, patient and staff satisfaction. \n

Roles and Responsibilities:\n\n\n\n\n\nDisplays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\nAccomplish nurse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, educating, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; communicating job expectations, adhere to policies and procedures.\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\nFosters an environment that promotes a spirit of inquiry and continuous quality improvement. Assists in the design and implementation of programs which evaluate the efficacy of treatment.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMonitor and assure the compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPromote, monitor and implement the concepts of quality management and evidence based practice. Monitor service areas, recommend approaches for improvement activities, design new processes, collect and measure data, review and report performance over time, improve and redesign processes based on the evaluation and reassess continuously.\n\n

Required Skills and Experience:\n\nEducation: BS with active enrollment in advanced healthcare degree or BSN\nExperience: At least 2 years of experience in specialty area\nLicensure: Active New York Nursing License\nCertifications: BLS upon hire, ACLS and PALS within 3 months of hire date.\n\n

Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nMSN preferred\n\n

Physical Requirements:\n\nPhysical: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.\n\n

Pay Range Disclosure:\n\n$95,000 to $115,000 per year\n\n
