Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) UnitNurse Clinicians (x3)
The Health Systems Trust (HST) wishes to appoint three Professional Nurses in uThukela District, KwaZulu-Natal Province to support the District Department of Health in providing direct HIV and TB service delivery as part of the South Africa Sustainable Response to HIV and TB (SA SURE PRO) Project in the district.
The incumbents will provide HIV and TB services to patients at Primary Health Care clinics in compliance with the project's service profile and reporting requirements.
They will also support Outreach Teams, as well as HST's contracted community-based organisations (CBOs), in monitoring treatment adherence among patients who have been transferred to differentiated models of care (DMoC) – which entails, for example, reporting non-collection of medicine parcels at Central Chronic Medicine Dispensing and Distribution (CCMDD) pick-up points.
These are fixed-term contract positions, renewable based on funding.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Nursing – (four-year degree) or Diploma in Nursing with Midwifery.Current registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) required.Competency certification in Nurse-initiated Management of ART (NIMART) is essential. Competency certification in Adult Primary Care (APC) is essential.A dispensing licence would be an advantage.A valid drivers' licence is required, as this is a community-based role.Experience
Three years' experience in HIV prevention, treatment, care and support programmes and TB service provision.Knowledge of HIV management, including the UNAIDS 95-95-95 goals and targets, and of TB management. Knowledge of Ideal Clinic Realisation and Management (ICRM) and QIP frameworks.Clinical care: understanding of the Universal Test and Treat (UTT) approach, QI processes and concepts, and competence in HIV clinical management (NIMART).Experience in provider-initiated HIV testing and counselling (PITC), including index case contact testing, is essential.Experience in facilitation of HIV self-screening would be an advantage.Good understanding of the South African public health system, including national and provincial policies and management structures.Experience in providing supportive supervision and mentoring to junior staff working at the same facility.Previous work experience in non-governmental organisations or funded programmes will be an advantage.Computer literacy and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).Other attributes required

Ability to work with minimal supervision and be deadline-driven.A salary package commensurate with the successful candidate's experience and qualifications and in line with HST's Job Grading System will be offered.
