36Summary:
The Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in the hospital setting. The NP/PA is responsible for the assessment, participation in the development of the plan of care, diagnosis and intervention of the assigned hospitalized patient(s) according to approved protocols. The NP/PA prescribes a variety of modalities to meet patient needs, up to and including continued hospital admission or discharge and prescriptive authority. Collaborates with the assigned team members to support and adjust plan of care and length of stay for patient care needs.
Education and Experience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required. Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
Physician Assistants
Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and a minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized areas strongly preferred.
