We are looking for our next Nordic Group Financial Controller (Director) who will be responsible for the financial controlling for the commercial business units of AstraZeneca in the five Nordic countries, including Iceland. You will lead a team of three dedicated financial controllers and collaborate closely with our Shared Service Center team to safeguard our accounting and tax reporting while driving efficient and value-adding financial operating processes for our business colleagues. This position can be based in our vibrant office in Forskaren in Hagastaden next to Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm or our office in Carlsberg-byen in Copenhagen.

The role

As the Nordic Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the financial and ESG reporting, tax, treasury, and enterprise risk management for the Nordics commercial business units. You will ensure compliance with AZ global standards as well as local legislation; and stay updated on relevant country legislation for financial reporting and tax. It will be essential to establish efficient collaboration with internal mid-office and back-office finance shared service center teams, as well as maintaining regular interaction with tax consultants, external auditors, and tax authorities.

You will lead the monthly closing process for the Nordics and ensure correct and timely submission of tax returns, including transfer pricing documentation and performance of financial controls (Sarbanes-Oxley). AstraZeneca is committed to sustainability, and you will play a crucial role in driving further improvement of processes for ESG reporting. Additionally, you will be responsible for local treasury, driving cash-flow reporting, and managing our banking relationships in line with AZ global directions.

In order to succeed in this role, you have:

We are looking for an individual holding a Master degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar. As an experienced accounting professional, you have 5+ years´ from either a larger accounting/audit firm and/or a multinational company. Experience from the pharmaceutical industry would be great but not a requirement.
