Nordic/East Base Manager
Overview Create Lasting Memories on the Mountain! The Nordic/East Base Manager oversees the operations and management of the ski resort's Nordic/East (cross-country) skiing facilities. Come work and play at Seattleā€™s home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is lots to do all year long. Responsibilities Job duties may include, but are not limited to: Coordinate all aspects of the Nordic base area, including trail grooming, signage, and maintenance, to ensure safe and enjoyable skiing conditions. Coordinate with the trail maintenance team to ensure trails are well-maintained and groomed regularly. Coordinates and ensures smooth operational standards for the daily upkeep of the East base area, which includes surrounding areas such as the parking lot and snow areas surrounding the base lodge. (e.g., ski rack management) Oversees all Nordic Trail Rangers and the ticket checking process for Nordic trail use. Works closely with rental/retail, Snowsports School, and guest services to ensure appropriate staffing levels for daily operations and a consistent level of services at each outlet. Works with the rental/retail main point of contact to ensure maintenance of Nordic skiing equipment is in good condition and manages inventory appropriately. Retail is professionally displayed and stocked to adequate levels. Works closely with the Food and Beverage East manager to ensure the back-of-house operations and facilities are maintained, as well as ensure bathrooms are serviced and kept to a high level of cleanliness. Qualifications What we are looking for: Customer service experience, both in person and on the phone preferred. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The willingness to look at all aspects of a problem before drawing a conclusion. The capacity to proactively make quick decisions to keep crisis situations from escalating. Proficient in using computer software and systems relevant to the role, such as reservation systems and inventory management software. All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff). All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
