Job Description
As a Nonsterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will accurately read prescriptions, interpret physician intent, and process prescriptions in The Compounder system efficiently under Pharmacist supervision. You will prepare correct formula log sheets for standard items and refer non-standard items to the Compounding Pharmacist. Additionally, you will compound orders by mixing, packaging, labeling, and performing record-keeping tasks. You will work closely with the pharmacist to maintain ingredient, equipment, and batched product inventories. Upholding the moral and ethical practices of the pharmacy, you will provide prompt, friendly service to clients and handle patient complaints efficiently. You will ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly activities are followed and recorded within the appropriate monitoring and compliance systems, engage in continuous improvement and education of techniques and processes, and actively work with the non-sterile compounding team to identify areas of improvement.
ResponsibilitiesAccurately read and interpret prescriptions.Process prescriptions in The Compounder system under Pharmacist supervision.Prepare formula log sheets for standard items.Refer non-standard items to the Compounding Pharmacist.Compound orders by mixing, packaging, labeling, and record-keeping.Present orders and supporting items to the pharmacist for final check before dispensing.Maintain ingredient, equipment, and batched product inventories.Provide prompt and friendly service to clients.Handle patient complaints efficiently.Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly activities are recorded within compliance systems.Engage in continuous improvement and education of techniques and processes.Identify and report any insanitary conditions.Essential SkillsExperience with USP797, Pharmacy, Sterile Compounding.Ability to communicate well with pharmacists, peers, and superiors.Excellent listening and communication skills.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, QS-1, and The Compounder.Ability to operate basic office equipment such as copier, fax, and telephone.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Demonstrate teamwork and initiative.Committed to follow-up and task completion.Work Environment
You will be working in a closed-door specialty compounding pharmacy in an aseptic environment. The work hours are 3:30 pm - 10:30 pm Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturdays.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
