Job Description
As a Nonsterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting prescriptions accurately, preparing formula log sheets, and compounding orders in accordance with established guidelines. Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, you will ensure all processes are completed efficiently and precisely, while maintaining inventory and providing excellent client service.
ResponsibilitiesCorrectly read prescriptions, interpret physician intent, and process prescriptions in The Compounder system under Pharmacist supervision.Prepare the correct formula log sheet for standard items, referring non-standard items to the Compounding Pharmacist.Accurately compound orders by mixing, packaging, labeling, and record-keeping, presenting them for a final pharmacist check.Work with pharmacists to maintain ingredient, equipment, and batched product inventories.Conduct oneself ethically, providing friendly service and handling patient complaints efficiently.Ensure completion and recording of daily, weekly, and monthly activities within compliance systems.Engage in continuous improvement of techniques and processes.Collaborate with the compounding team to identify areas for improvement.Report insanitary conditions immediately.Essential SkillsProficiency in USP797, Pharmacy, and Sterile Compounding.Ability to work and communicate well with pharmacists, peers, and superiors.Excellent listening and communication skills.Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to task completion.Teamwork and initiative.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to understand Microsoft Office software, QS-1, and Compounder.Proficiency in operating basic office equipment such as copier, fax, and telephone.High School Diploma or equivalent.Work Environment
Work in a closed-door specialty compounding pharmacy, maintaining an aseptic environment. Shift hours are 3:00pm to 11:30pm, Monday through Friday. The pharmacy is expanding, offering opportunities for internal growth. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid holidays, and a career consultant. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
