Staff Pharmacist Ensures optimal drug therapy by designing therapy, monitoring and dispensing medications, and directing the work of supportive staff to maximize positive patient outcomes. Prepares and dispenses all medication for hospital use according to ethical practice of pharmacy, in conjunction with state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and recognized standards, practice guidelines, and policies and procedures. Checks all medication orders for potential drug-drug interactions and drug allergies. Provides dosing calculations, adverse drug reaction (ADR) surveillance and reporting.

EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree required. Pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Preferred:

Doctor of Pharmacy degree. One year hospital pharmacy experience or Pharmacy Residency.
