NICU Rehab Therapy PT OT or SLP

Job Description:

This position is open to Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist. This position is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing and treatment of injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard physical therapy practices. Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist consult, educate, and train patients and their caregivers.

Scope

As a Physical Therapist you need to know how to:

Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.Develops plans describing a treatment strategy, its purposes, and its anticipated outcome.Plans often include exercise regimens at the clinic and at home to increase flexibility, strength, or endurance. May use various modalities to relieve pain and reduce swelling.Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs. It helps to restore physical function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent permanent disability.Determines patients' ability to be independent and reintegrate into the workplace or community after injury or illness.

 

As an Occupational Therapist you need to know how to:

Evaluate a patient upon initial encounter to determine the need for occupational therapy intervention and make referrals to other treatment team members as deemed appropriate.Plan occupational therapy treatment program for each patient, based upon interpretation of evaluation results; interpret evaluation findings for patient, family, and treatment team members.Develop realistic goals with patient input; explain treatment plan and goals to patient.Implement treatment or supervise treatment provided by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, or occupational therapy student. Delegate routine care to supportive personnel as appropriate.Terminate occupational therapy services when patient has attained maximum benefit from occupational therapy; provide in-service education to members of treatment team to ensure follow-through of treatment program.Evaluate, record and report on a patient's progress for review by other members of the rehabilitative team.Communicate effectively with physician, other members of rehabilitation team and others as indicated regarding treatment plan and patient response to plan.Complete all required documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you need to know how to:

The Speech Pathologist is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating disorders of speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, and swallowing. In addition, this position is also responsible for consulting, educating, and training patients and their caregivers.Carry out speech therapy evaluations, program planning and treatments for hospital inpatients and outpatients.Work closely with the Physical Medicine Director in coordinating speech therapy activities with other hospital disciplines and in developing a program for department expansion, community and physician marketing, budget needs, and department administration.Work independently with limited contact with other Speech Language Pathologists

Physical Therapy
Minimum Qualifications
 

Required
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school is required
Current/valid state Physical Therapist licensure is required Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
One (1) year related experience (preferably in a clinic setting) is required
Preferred
Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy is preferred
Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) is preferred

Occupational Therapy
Minimum Qualifications
 

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy, required- Current license as an Occupational Therapist in the State of practice, required- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required- At least one (1) year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department.

Preferred

 Critical Care Experience, strongly preferred

Speech Language Pathology
Minimum Qualifications


Required
Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology, required.

Current license to practice speech language pathology in the State of Colorado, required. Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) and achieve clinical competencies by the required clinical internships, required.

Strong Clinical Fellows with demonstrated competence may work under supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist while completing the fellowship year. Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required by completion of the unit-specific orientation and before working independently.

Preferred

At least six (6) months of experience in the acute care setting, including experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies, preferred

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$32.84 - $58.35
